Rava Kesari is the most simplest sweet that can be made very quickly and easily. This is made by combining the semolina along with sugar and ghee. It is mostly done for festivals or special occasions. Lets look at the steps to make this rava kesari.
Preparation Time:10 mints | Cooking Time : 20 mints | Serves:3-4
Semolina / Rava(Fine Sooji) - 1 cup Sugar - 2 cups Melted Ghee- 4 tbspn Water - 2 1/2 cups Cashew nuts - 1 tbspn chopped Raisin - 1 tbspn
Orange Food color - 1 pinch
Cardamom powder - 1 tspn
In a pan heat the ghee and fry the cashew and raisins till golden brown . Remove the nuts from ghee and fry the semolina/rava in it. Transfer it to a plate.
In a kadai / pan heat the water along with cardamom and food color . Bring it to boil . Then add the rava to water in low flame slowly without forming lumps.
Then add the sugar and mix well without any lumps. Add the fried nuts to it and mix well.
Now the rava kesari is ready to serve.
1. You can add more ghee if you like.
2. Orange food color is optional . You can also add milk soaked with saffron to get color.
3. Also you can do it plainly without any color.
