Tomato peas pulao is a type of rice variety made with the flavor of tomatoes along with onion and Indian garam masala. It can be served with raitha or chips. This is a very simple type of briyani made in very less time. Its the quickest version and very suitable for lunch box. Adding peas gives extra flavor to the pulao.
Lets look at the steps for making this pulao.

Ghee - 3tbspn
Basmati Rice - 1.5 cups
Onion- 3/4 cup chopped lengthwise
Tomato - 1 cup chopped lengthwise
Coriander leaves - fistful
Mint leaves - fistful
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1tbspn
Bay leaf - 2
Star Annis - 1
Cinnamon - 1 inch
cloves - 3
Salt - 1tbspn
Red chili Powder - 1 tbspn
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tbspn
Garam masala - 1/4tspn
Green Peas - 1/4 cup(I used dried peas)
Water - 2.5 cups
1.Soak peas for 8 hours and the basmati rice for one hour. In a Pressure Cooker heat the ghee, add whole spices,onions,g,chili,ginger garlic paste. Saute well. Then add the tomatoes.
2. Add all the spice powders cook for two mints until tomatoes are soft. Then add the peas and soaked rice . Give a gentle mix.Add water and pressure cook in medium flame for two whistles.
Tomato peas pulao is ready to serve with raita.
My Notes :
1. Adding green peas along with this pulao which is completely optional .
2. I added dried peas so soaked and added. If you are using fresh peas or frozen no need of soaking.
