kothavarangai is also called as cluster beans . This is the simple poriyal made with cluster beans and its very easy to make. We can make this poriyal in no time . This poriyal is made of cooked kothavarangai with grated coconut along with chili . This taste good along with rasam / sambar sadham.

Kothavarangai / cluster beans - 1 cup ( finely chopped )
Red chili - 1
Curry leaves - few
Oil - 2 tbspn
Mustard seeds - 1 tspn
Urad dal - 1 tbspn
Coconut - 2 tbspn
Salt - to taste
Hing - 1 tspn
Turmeric - 1 tspn
Water - 1/4 cup
1.In a pan heat the oil add the mustard seeds allow it to pop.Then add the urad dal, red chili , curry leaves . Once the urad dal turns golden add the kothavarangai , turmeric . hing , salt and mix well. Add the water and allow it to cook.
2. Once the cluster beans cooked well and all the water evaporates . Then add the grated coconut toss well . Turn off the flame.
Serve the poriyal with rice .
My Notes :
1. You can increase the amount of coconut as per your taste.
2. You can also cook the kothavarangai by covering with lid after adding the tempering and salt instead of cooking with water.
