PULI AVAL / TAMARIND POHA

Puli aval is the famous and easiest south indian breakfast that can be made quickly. No onion garlic is used in this recipe. This is the simplest recipe to make in the morning. And it is also the apt recipe for travel . This is also called as poha puliodhare .Lets look at the recipe.

PULI AVAL

Preparation Time:10 mints| Cooking Time : 15 mints|Severs: 3

Ingredients:

Oil - 2 tsp Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp Curry leaves - 1 small sprig Channa Dal - 1 tsp

Urad dal - 1 tsp Peanuts - 1 tbsp Hing - a generous pinch Red chilies - 2 Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp Salt - to taste

Thick Poha - 2 cup Tamarind extract - 3/4 cup

Method:

1. Wash the poha by rinsing in water for 3 times . Then strain the water completely and set aside. in a kadai heat oil add mustard seeds . Allow it to pop then add the channa dal , urad dal and peanuts. Cook till dal turns golden.

2. Then add the tamarind extract , salt , turmeric and hing. Once it starts boil add the poha and simmer it. Once the poha is done turn off the stove.

Tamarind poha is ready to serve.
